Michael Foster is the former Member of Parliament for Hastings and Rye, which he represented for nearly thirteen years. During that time he also served as Minister for Equalities and assisted in steering the Equality Bill through Parliament.
A solicitor by profession, since leaving Parliament Michael has set up his own law firm, Michael Foster Law, where he is Principal and Employment Specialist.

Married with two children and five grandchildren, he has lived in Hastings all his life and is very supportive of the local arts community. He is a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of East Sussex and a Freeman of the Borough of Hastings.
